Winter’s Last Quiet Days & the Promise of Spring

There’s a certain softness to the end of winter. The days stretch just a little longer, the air feels lighter, and suddenly everything feels possible again.

After months of cozy mornings and bundled-up afternoons, I can feel us leaning toward spring. Toward open doors, bare feet, and the kind of days that don’t ask much of us except to slow down and stay awhile.

I’m dreaming about mornings on the porch with my favorite water bottle in hand.

Afternoons spent rocking in the yard, watching the kids make up games and chase sunshine.

And evenings filled with dirt-under-the-fingernails joy—planting our garden, growing flowers, and teaching the kids that good things take patience, care, and a little bit of mess.

Spring feels like a reset. A gentle invitation to move our bodies more, breathe deeper, and find rhythm again. It’s why I created the Porch Mama Guide—something simple and grounding to help busy mamas ease into new seasons with intention, not pressure.

Soon there will be kids running barefoot through our new backyard, hands sticky from snacks and laughter echoing through the air. Cups of water left on the porch rail. Tiny shoes forgotten by the door.

These are the days I want to remember. The ones that don’t need to be perfect to be meaningful.

Here’s to the last quiet moments of winter—and the beautiful, muddy, sun-soaked season ahead.
